Crossbow is loaded by clicking on it, when the drawstring appears completely stretched. You can pre load the crossbow and keep it in inventory for future usage, this helps in saving time.

There are also some enchantments available for crossbows, making them a more powerful weapon against the enemy. Enchantments include:

• Multishot: This add-on helps the crossbow in shooting three arrows at once while using only one arrow from the inventory. This enchantment also works while shooting the firework rocket.
• Quick Charge: This enchantment helps in the faster loading of the arrow in the crossbow. This reduces the loading time of the crossbow.

Obtaining:

Many times, the enemy skeletons, strays or sometimes even illusioners drop it during the game for you to retrieve it later on. Often the bows are also enchanted to further help you in the game. You can also find Bows while fishing, these Bows are sometimes damaged and possess random useful enchantments.

Bow Usage

In order to use a Minecraft Bow, there should be at least one arrow in the inventory. While the bow is charging, the player is required to run at a sneaking pace, unless he rides a horse, a cart, or a boat, or flies with elytra.
